According to Vanuatu’s daily newspaper, the Daily Post, the country’s national airline, Air Vanuatu has been placed into voluntary administration. An official government response is pending the arrival of the administrators, Ernst and Young.
What does this mean for YOUR seasonal workers?
Firstly, Air Vanuatu is working with other carriers to reschedule existing bookings. This will mean flight disruptions are highly likely. Please visit the Air Vanuatu website for up-to-date rescheduled or cancelled flights, and work closely with your travel agents and also your recruiting agent.
Second. We recommend that until further is known, and reassurances made, arrange future bookings through other carriers or routes. It is fortunate that this is occurring during the quieter months as far as mobilisation is concerned.
The Vanuatu Agents’ Committee wishes to reassure all RSEs and AEs that Vanuatu recruitment is still on, and being a versatile lot, we can still make deployments happen. Ask your agent for advice.
The Daily Post article is here . Oh, and the seats are empty in the photo they used probably more because Air Vanuatu does not have an A220!
